If your goal is to go lighter:
- Hair must be virgin (no previous professional colour, box dye, or henna)
- Lightening can achieve 1 to 3 levels of lift without bleach (e.g., from black to chocolate brown).
If your goal is to go darker:
- Previously coloured hair is acceptable

- Ends look faded and need richness and shine
- Going darker or refreshing your current tone

FAQ
How often should I book a root touch up?
Most clients book every 4 to 8 weeks, depending on regrowth speed and grey coverage needs.
How much regrowth is considered a root touch up?
Best results are typically within 0.5 to 1.5 inches of regrowth. Beyond that, we may recommend a different approach for evenness.
I have a sensitive scalp, can I still colour?
Possibly. We will assess scalp health, recommend patch testing, and adjust the plan if needed.
Will colouring damage my hair or change my curl pattern?
Colour can impact moisture and strength, especially when lifting or correcting old colour. Curl pattern changes usually happen with over processing or already fragile hair.
To reduce risk, we check porosity and elasticity first, use the gentlest developer that will work, support bonds, control timing, and finish with conditioning plus pH balancing. If your hair is compromised, we may recommend a slower multi visit plan.
What if I have box dye on my hair?
Please let us know in advance. Box dye can cause uneven lift, stubborn warmth, and banding. It does not mean you can’t colour your hair, but it often changes the plan. You may need a consult, a strand test, and possibly a corrective session before we can reach your goal.
